2017 Rate Change Information
November 18, 2016 Update
Retail rates for UPS® Air Service, UPS 3 Day Select® and international Air services will increase December 26, 2016 and are available for download.
UPS SurePost® rates will increase December 26, 2016.
Effective January 8, 2017, UPS will change the dimensional weight calculation for U.S. domestic services and UPS® Standard from Canada import packages subject to UPS Daily rates. U.S. domestic services packages that are greater than 1,728 cubic inches will use a 139 divisor to calculate dimensional weight. U.S. domestic services packages less than or equal to 1,728 cubic inches will continue to use a 166 divisor to calculate dimensional weight. UPS Standard from Canada import shipments will use a 139 divisor to calculate dimensional weight.
Effective January 8, 2017, the Additional Handling charge will be assessed for any package with the longest side exceeding 48 inches, instead of 60 inches.
For packages shipped on or after January 8, 2017, transactional requests for refunds under the UPS Service Guarantee will not be paid where timely upload of package-level detail is not provided, as set forth in the UPS Tariff/Terms and Conditions of Service.
Effective February 6, 2017, U.S. fuel surcharge will be adjusted weekly. Effective February 6, 2017, U.S. Import fuel surcharge percentage will increase and be assessed independently of U.S. Air and Export fuel surcharge.

The 2017 UPS Rate and Service Guide will be available to download on December 26, 2016.
UPS Freight’s Density-Based rate tariff (UPGF 580) will increase an average net of 4.9% effective December 26, 2016. This will be the first increase for this tariff in two years.
UPS Freight will implement a California Compliance surcharge of $5.95 per shipment effective November 21, 2016. This surcharge will apply to less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments picked up or delivered in the state of California and will compensate UPS Freight for administrative cost associated with complying with California state regulation.
September 1, 2016 Update
Effective December 26, 2016*, the published rates for our services will increase. This supports the ongoing investments we continue to make in the speed, scope and coverage of our transportation network. While we continuously search out opportunities for new efficiencies and implement them within our network, those efforts do not fully offset cost increases. To support ongoing expansion and capabilities enhancements, while striving to maintain the high service levels you expect from UPS, we will increase published rates in 2017.
Daily rates for UPS® Ground service will increase an average net 4.9%.
Daily rates for UPS Air and International services will increase an average net 4.9%.

UPS Air Freight rates within and between the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, will increase an average net 4.9%.

UPS Freight rates for shipments rated on the current UPS Freight 560 (US48), 525 (to and from Canada) and 570/571 (to and from Mexico) Tariffs will increase an average net 4.9% effective September 19, 2016. These rates will be available at ltl.upsfreight.com beginning September 19, 2016.
